I had occasion to use this umbrella today while traveling in Rome. Although it is heavier than most travel umbrellas, I believe it is worth the weight as it is wide enough to cover 2 people. It does open quickly and it seems durable enough to last a long time, unlike cheap, less well-produced umbrellas. It seems to be worth the price. An additional benefit-it's so hefty it could be a weapon!
