I ordered this at the last minute before a recent trip. It was a factory dropship, but came promptly.

My wife was going ahead to visit a friend in Washington DC and I was meeting her a week later in New York City. So our usual practice of using one large bag and a smaller one for both of us wouldn't work. Because this was a long trip, I figured our 22" bag would not be enough for my needs, and she was taking our 28" Eagle Creek bag.

So I ordered the Delsey Helium Pro, on sale. I decided to get the 29" version thinking it would be about the same size as the Eagle Creek bag. And I was worried that the 26" Delsey would not be large enough.

The 29" bag turned out to be a whole lot bigger than I thought it would be, but I decided to keep it because it was light and the sale price was reasonable.

It's a big, deep, rectangular, roomy bag, and the style, with a slim "lid" and a huge storage bin bottom section, makes it easy to find things in the bag. It has a couple of inside compartments and several slim external pockets, but basically it is like an old-fashioned suitcase updated. I used a couple of packing cubes and envelopes, but honestly you could easily get by without these packing assists. Just fold up the clothes and stack them in the Delsey main compartment. Two sets of straps allow you to hold them in place, but if you pack right you don't even need the straps. The deep, straight sides and square corners hold everything in place.

I guess I would describe this as a real whale, but it is solid and easy to manage. Be careful you don't overpack it and go over airline weight limits -- it would be easy to do and you would not even notice until you hit the scale.

For a shorter trip, I would get the smaller version of this.

It seems pretty strong, but because it is lightweight I am not sure how long it will hold up. The outer material is dense and strong, the frame seems tough enough, but the hardware is a little wobbly.

I bought this specifically for an extended international business trip, and it worked perfectly. My traveling business associates had two suitcases each and had less room and more trouble lugging around two items. It is BIG but I had no trouble getting it on planes, trains, and buses, and of course filling it with souvenirs.
