This size of the DKX model is great for carry on luggage. It is 21" and within the restrictions on most airlines. Note that the newer, slightly more expensive expanding Samsonite model is a bit larger at 21.5 (which exceeds the 21" limit on some airlines, e.g. Alitalia). Therefore, this is truly the better choice. It is made of durable nylon, which lasts longer than other less expensive materials. I like the burgundy color too--neutral yet bright. Overall, I was very happy with this selection. My husband liked it too, so we ordered him a black one so as to distinguish between our bags when we travel together.
